Our third Annual Open Gardens event was held over the weekend of 25th and 26th June 2022, with a dozen gardens open to visitors in the Walpole Villages. A most enjoyable event raised over £1,000 for the Fund. A big thank you to everyone who opened their gardens and to everyone who came. It was decided by the Trustees not to hold an Open Gardens in 2023.
On Wednesday 23 August 2023, we held our first Annual Barbecue in the grounds of Walpole St Peter Church. A most enjoyable event and a good opportunity to meet other supporters of the Robert Foot Leukaemia Fund. The evening raised over £650 for the Fund, with thanks to all who supported it and made it such an enjoyable event. Our special thanks to Neville Morley and Lee Stevens who ran the BBQ food.
Tina Tostevin kindly prepared and organised a Colourful Christmas Quiz in December 2023 in support of the Fund. One of the questions (no. 3), contained an error... "Oranges are Not the Only Fruit" was a TV series and not a film. However, all the high scorers got it right and it would make no difference to the result. The gentleman who put "James and the Giant Peach" probably had a better answer but unfortunately he had lots of gaps so wouldn't have won anyway! Congratulations to Wendy Stockbridge who was the winner drawn from the four people who had 44/45 correct answers. The questions and answers are listed below:
